Everything was going right
We even went out for a date
I honestly thought it was love
I thought we could relate

But then things came upon my life
That got me extremely upset
I just needed a break from it all
So we became friends, but didn't forget

However, then what happened
Is I liked being friends much more
You were easier to talk to
Way better than before

At that time, I met a guy,
Who really took my heart
He was perfect for me
Love from the very start

So he asked me out
And uneasily I said yes
But you weren't too happy
So along came even more stress

Rumors spread; people told me a lot
About things that you were saying
I was strained enough already
It was not true --- I was praying

But then all my best friends
Told me these same lines
So I finally came to believe
That you were telling these lies

So I said I disliked you
But inside I knew that was false
I just didn't know what to say
When questioned by everyone else

Guilt made its way through me
But with you it was just anger
So now it was destroyed
Everything that we ever were
